The El Dorado Forebay Dam Modification Project was a $25M project located in Pollock Pines, CA. The project included raising the existing dam embankment ten vertical feet and upgrading the surrounding facilities to meet dam safety requirements. Associated works included the construction of a downstream stability berm, removal and replacement of the existing spillway, installation of various gates and other modifications to the existing irrigation outlet, installation of a seepage collection pump, and construction of a box culvert. The project included significant excavation, processing, and hauling of material from nearby borrow areas. A variety of interim milestones associated with active dam operations was constrained by multiple winter shutdowns.
